Indie iPhone game development

About

Noel is following his lifelong dream of being an indie developer. His latest startup, Snappy Touch, is focused exclusively on iPhone game development. He believes that games don’t have to rely on violence, and can instead encourage creativity and sharing.

When he’s not working on a new game, he’s probably writing about game development here or for his monthly column in Game Developer Magazine. He’s the author of the book C++ For Game Programmers, and he contributed to several books of the Game Programming Gems series. Noel frequently speaks in conferences all over the world and is a member of the Game Developer Conference Advisory Board.

As a veteran with over ten years of experience in the games industry, he worked on the following published titles:

  • The Bourne Conspiracy (Xbox360, PS3) (2008)
  • Darkwatch (PS2, Xbox) (2005)
  • MechAssault 2 (Xbox) (2004)
  • MechAssault (Xbox) (2002)
  • Battleship: Surface Thunder (PC) (2000)
  • Missile Command (PC, PSX) (1999)

He earned an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
